    The Partners

Peter N Dening  FRICS FIRPM

Peter qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1979 and since then has specialised in the management of Blocks of Flats and accounting. He is a member of the ARMA technical committee and currently has responsibility for the administration of the practice.

 

Alan P. Herbert FRICS  

A former officer of the West Midlands General Practice Divisional Committee of the RICS and having served on the West Midlands Branch Committee, Alan was awarded Fellowship to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1996 having entered the profession in the 1970’s.  He is responsible for the Residential Professional Department of the Practice with an emphasis upon valuation, sale and acquisition of Freehold Ground Rents, Leasehold Reform Act work, Lease Extension and Leasehold Valuation Tribunal evidence/ representation.

 

Richard S Moxon BSc, MRICS

Richard has over 25 years experience of the West Midlands property market and has worked within private practice, local and central government.  He joined Pennycuick Collins in 1999 to establish a commercial property department specialising in property management and landlord and tenant issues. 
Richard is also involved with RICS committees on a local and national basis including having been West Midlands Regional Chairman for two years and he is currently Chairman of RICS England and also sits on Governing Council; he also served on The Brooke Review Committee.  Richard is also been keen to promote the RICS to the wider community and business groups within the West Midlands. He has represented the RICS on the West Midlands Business Council, and currently sits as a member of the West Midlands Regional Assembly where he has also held the position as the Vice Chairman of the Regional Planning Partnership

  

The Associate Partners

Carol A Bolton-Gough BSc (Hons) MRICS

Carol qualified in 1987 and recently joined Pennycuick Collins as Associate Partner within the Commercial Department. For most of her career Carol has worked in private practice but previous to this she was Assistant Estates Manager at Birmingham International Airport and before that worked in local government.
Carol specialises in Asset Management, Commercial Valuations and Landlord & Tenant matters.
 

 

Stuart Tullah  FNAVA, FNAEA, MARLA

Stuart is the firm’s Auctioneer holding quarterly property auctions at The Gold Suite, St Andrews, Birmingham City Football Club.
All types of lots pass under Stuart’s gavel, both on an investment and vacant possession basis, including residential and commercial property, ground rent investments and land sites. Pennycuick Collins’ property auctions have become highly regarded in their field and have been very successful over the last few years with an excellent sales success rate.
Stuart’s gavel is often wielded for local charities and organisations and he is always happy to discuss sale by public auction with prospective clients.
Stuart is Secretary & Treasurer to Four Oaks Estate Ltd and served as a District Councillor from 1995-2003, holding the post of Vice Chairman of Planning Committee from 2001-2003.

Brian Robinson BSc MRICS MaPS

Brian has been a Chartered Building surveyor since 1993 and runs the Building Surveying Team for the practice. He has wide experience in dilapidations, Pre Lease surveys, Condition surveys, the planning and managing of refurbishment and maintenance projects and the preparation of long term Maintenance plans. He also undertake  the Assessment Of the Reinstatement Costs for insurance purposes.
Since joining the practise he has become responsible for the management of day to day Health and Safety for the practice and undertakes risk assessments for clients and for the practise.
He is also a qualified Planning Supervisor and a member of The Association of Project Safety.

The Consultants

Robert Brown   FRICS  FARLA  MIRPM

Robert retired from The Partnership after 25 years having seen the partnership expand from two surveyors and 8 admin staff to the current staffing level of 40, he has seen the company go through several office relocations and quite a few name changes as well. Robert remains a consultant to the firm and will be in the office on a regular basis.

Robert is a Fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Fellow of the Association of Resident Lettings Agents and a Member of the Institute of Residential Property Managers. Robert sits on the Residential Group and Lettings and Management Group of the Residential Faculty of the RICS.

Richard Thorne  FRICS

Richard joined Pennycuick Collins following the merger with Ralphs & Janes in July 2006. He joined R & J in 1988, becoming a Partner a year later, and has worked in the commercial and industrial field, specialising in compulsory purchase & compensation, rating, rent reviews and lease renewals, valuation, sales and lettings, development work and property management. He has also been involved in the licensing work, for which Ralphs & Janes has been widely known and respected.

Richard has brought an established client base with him, which has enabled the expansion of the Commercial side of the Practice.

Gordon Scott  BSc FRICS MIRPM

Gordon Scott joined Pennycuick Collins as a Consultant. His career commenced in1969 when he worked for Cluttons following which he became a Principal Valuer for Birmingham City Estates. Further posts included commercial and residential agency, rating and surveys.  He became a Fellow of the RICS in 1984 and has over twenty years of experience in managing Flats and Apartments.

    Practice Management

Lynn Gill

Lynn joined Pennycuick Collins in 2001 as Secretary to The Partnership having spent many years in office administration.
Responsibilities lie in the areas of Human Resources, training and assisting the Partners in the day to day administration of the practice. 
On a lighter note Lynn is also responsible for organising the firm’s social events.

Neon X

Neon joined the company in the autumn of 2005 as the ICT Technician, Webmaster and Photographer.  As the ICT technician his responsibilities lie in maintaining the computer network and all the individual computers making sure that everything at the office runs smoothly for everyone.  Neon is also responsible for the introduction and training of new programs and systems used by the company and in accordance with our Corporate & Social Policy he is introducing a new paperless system to the company which will be up and running very shortly. 
As webmaster he is responsible for the design and maintenance of the website. 
 

Sue Walker

Sue joined Pennycuick Collins in 2006 and is the company's first point of call.  Sue operates the main switchboard taking telephone enquiries and welcomes all visitors into our firm as well as providing office support for the lettings, sale and auction team.

 

    Residential Lettings

Lucy J Baylis  MARLA 

Lucy joined Pennycuick Collins in 2002. A Senior Property Manager, Lucy heads up the Residential Lettings Department. The role involves looking after clients with single properties through to clients with corporate portfolios. This includes work such as valuations, acquisitions, check out inspection and deposits, client reporting and day to day property management. Lucy is a member of ARLA and is keen to make sure all of her team become ARLA members also.

 

Emma E Taylor MARLA

Emma joined Pennycuick Collins in 2005 and acts as Property Manager within the Residential Lettings Department.  She oversees tenancy applications and paperwork, carries through our arrears procedure and helps with check out inspections along with day to day property management. Emma is a member of ARLA.

         

 

 

Jenny Atkins  MARLA

Jenny joined Pennycuick Collins in April 2006 and works as lettings Administrator.  Jenny looks after the marketing of our properties, advising prospective tenants and booking viewings. Most of jenny’s time is spent administrating the new tenancy paperwork and tenancy renewal paperwork also. Jenny also supports the department in a secretarial function.

Leighanne Sorrell

Leighanne joined Pennycuick Collins at the beginning of February 2008 and works as Lettings Administrator.  Leighanne looks after the advertising and marketing of our properties, advising prospective tenants and booking viewings. Most of Leighanne’s time is spent administrating the new tenancy paperwork from application stage to date of tenants moving in, also tenancy renewal paperwork. Leighanne also supports the department in a secretarial function.

Dan Tassa 

Dan joined Pennycuick Collins in 2002. Our man in the field, Dan spends most of his time out on the road, carrying out our viewings, routine visits and inventories.  Dan also assists with the property auction arrangements, both in the period leading up to the auction and in the saleroom itself. 

 

    Accounts

Andrew Ryan

Andrew is an AAT qualified accountant with over 20 years experience having worked for various types of companies including W. Canning Plc and Birmingham Technology Property Ltd (managing agents for Aston Science Park). He joined us in June 2002 working as part of the accounts department team performing various roles including implementation of the Client Money Manager banking system and maternity leave cover.  
In July 2003 he took over the responsibility for managing the department from Harold Cook who retired. Since taking on the role of manager Andrew has proactively worked at improving the accounting function and the systems used throughout the practice liaising with all members of the practice.

Adrian Robertson 

Having spent 30 years as a Business Systems Consultant & Designer, with a wide experience in Financial Consultancy and implementations. Following 12 years experience in managing his own property portfolio is now concentrating his interest within property and credit management on behalf of Pennycuick Collins.

 

Diane Ward MAAT  AIRPM
 

 Diane Started work at Pennycuick Collins in 2002
 Diane mainly works on service charge reconciliations and production of accounts and also deals with overseas landlord tax. Diane has over 12 years experience in the property account field.

 

 

Mary Kelly  

Mary joined the company in 2004 and works in the Accounts Department  where she is responsible for Sales ledger. Mary has worked  in Accountancy for 15 years.

 

Sally Wells

Sally deals with the Purchase Ledger in the Accounts Department. She has been with Pennycuick Collins since the 2001 merger, having worked in property accounts for twenty years.

 

Elaine Ricketts

Elaine joined Pennycuick in 2004 as part of the Accounts Team, she is responsible for monthly client payments/statements, daily bank reconciliations on the Mayfair system and the end of day transference of Client Money Manger reconciliation.

 

    Commercial

Sam Payne BSc (Hons) 

Sam works as a Graduate Surveyor within the Commercial Department of Pennycuick Collins.  During his three years at the firm he has specialised in commercial agency, management and professional work. 
Sam is also a member of the firm's Health & Safety Committee, Process Review Team and is on the Editorial Team for the Company's Newsletter.

 

Christine Simmons 

Chrissie has worked as a Secretary in the Practice for over twenty years and is currently Secretary to Richard Moxon the Partner in charge of The Commercial Department.

 

    Insurance

Janet Johnson 

Janet has worked in the Building Surveying Dept as Administrator since September 2003.  Janet has responsibility for running the Insurance Agency which involves providing insurance quotations for new and existing clients, maintenance of the insured properties portfolio and processing of claims. Gas repairs and annual gas safety inspections also come under Janet’s domain.

 

    Building Surveyors

David Baker BSc (Hons) MRICS

David graduated in 2001 from the University of Wolverhampton with an Honours Degree in Building Surveying. Following this his experience has included working within the modular building industry for a major leading UK company. His main duties included pre–site feasibility reporting, on site installation and management along with after hire dilapidation scheduling and programming.  
Following this he has worked for an asset management company within the West Midlands, managing reactive and planned maintenance programmes under measured term maintenance for a number of national breweries and commercial clients. 
David joined Pennycuick Collins in April 2004 and is currently involved in the specification and site monitoring of cyclical programmed maintenance for a number of the Departments within the practice.
David has recently secured Chartered Status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is presently heading up the firms Major Works Projects team

Adam Summerfield

Adam graduated from Coventry University with a 2:1 Honors Degree in Building Surveying. Adam joined Pennycuick Collins in August 2007 and at present assists both Brian and David with the major works site monitoring, and undertakes any site inspections for defects.

Adam is currently undertaking professional training to become a Chartered Building Surveyor

 

Pauline Young 

Pauline joined Pennycuick Collins in November of 2005 as Departmental Secretary for Building Surveying. 

 

    Residential Professional

Jayne Barker 

Jayne joined the Practice in July 2004 having much previous experience in the property industry.  Having worked previously in the Residential Service Charge Department as Departmental Administrator, Jayne is now Personal Assistant to Alan Herbert, Partner of the Residential Professional Department and also assists Alan with the administration of our ground rent portfolio.

Colin B Pitt  

Colin worked for many years as a Referencer / Valuation Assistant at the District Valuers Offices in Lichfield and Kettering and more recently spent 12 years as Clerk to the Midland Rent Assessment Panel and Leasehold Valuation Tribunal.  Since joining Pennycuick Collins at the beginning of 2003 he has carried out on-site inspections and valuations for the Residential Professional Dept in connection with Leasehold and Freehold matters and also general property surveys, including insurance surveys.

    Residential Service Charge

Bethan Griffiths-Tame BA (Hons) MIRPM 

Bethan is a Member of the Institute of Residential Property Managers and has been employed at Pennycuick Collins since 2004. Bethan jointly heads Residential Service Charge with Sarah and together they manage a team of four Property Managers and three Administrators as well as Wardens and Caretakers. Bethan and her Property Managers Natalie Brazier and Gemma Turrall have management responsibility for a diverse range of developments ranging from new build apartments to Grade II Listed Buildings

Lyndsey Cannon-Leach BA (Hons) MIRPM 

Lyndsey works within the Residential Service Charge department as a Property Manager who has been employed with Pennycuick Collins since 2005.  She is a Member of the Institute of Residential Property Management and manages a wide portfolio in the West Midlands including listed conversions and purpose built blocks.

 

Natalie Steadman AIRPM 

Natalie Steadman has worked for Pennycuick Collins since October 2003. She is a Member of the Institute of Residential Property Management. Natalie works alongside Bethan Griffiths-Tame on a large portfolio covering a wide variety of sites.

 

Laura Lock  AIRPM

Laura Lock joined Pennycuick Collins in May 2006 as a trainee property manager in the Residential Service Charge department. Laura assists Sarah Hammond and Lyndsey Cannon on their portfolio of sites, as well as managing a number of her own sites in the West Midlands. Laura is looking to take the IRPM exam during 2007.

 

 

Vanessa Waller

Vanessa Waller joined Pennycuick Collins in September2007 as a trainee property manager in the Residential Service Charge Department.  Vanessa assists Bethan Griffiths-Tame and Natalie Steadman on their portfolio of sites, as well as managing a number of her own sites in the West Midlands. Vanessa is looking to take the IRPM exam during 2008.

 

Charlotte Dorsett

Natasha Batik  AIRPM

Natasha joined Pennycuick Collins in May 2006.   Natasha is a Property Administrator providing administrative support to Natalie, Lyndsey and Gordon in Residential Service Charge. Natasha coordinates the administration team and oversees the resales and arrears processes. Natasha is also working towards her part 1 qualification from the IRPM in order to pursue a career in Property Management. 

 

 

Hayley Shortman

Hayley joined Pennycuick Collins in July 2007 as a Property Administrator.  Hayley provides administrative support to the Property Managers in Residential Service Charge.
