Pennycuick Collins Ralphs & Janes

Corporate & Social Responsibility Policy

‘Pennycuick Collins feel that good and just values and successful and sustainable business practices are entwined and are mutually beneficial to each other. To strive to achieve this and to deliver our services fairly and ethically, we lay down beneath our statements and policies that will help ensure that we meet this objective for the benefit of the firm, it’s staff, it’s clients and the wider environment at large.

Our Staff
Pennycuick Collins realise that it is it’s staff upon which the success of the firm rests. Training and support will be provided to ensure everyone participates fully in the business and are able to reach their full potential. Forums and vehicles are made available to allow and encourage employees to put their views forward, as it is recognised that diversity of opinions, views and skills are essential to ensure that the firm adapts itself to meet the ever changing requirements of the marketplace. Flexibility of working hours has been introduced, whilst remuneration and rewards will be fair and based upon skills and performance. An appraisal system operates to monitor and review employees’ skills, achievements and concerns, together with identifying training needs.

 Health & Safety
The firm takes it’s health & safety responsibilities very seriously, both in respect of it’s workplaces and the property which it manages. We strive to ensure that employees, clients, visitors and contractors can always be confident of entering a safe and healthy environment. Health & Safety matters are monitored by an active Health & Safety committee with rigorous policies which are reviewed regularly and adapted as responsibility, needs and legislation demand.

 Equal Opportunities
The firm has an equal opportunities policy that lays down and emphasises the firm’s belief in attracting, training and empowering the ‘best people for the job’, irrespective of race, colour, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion or disability.

 Environmental Concerns & Recycling
The firm has an environmental and recycling policy that identifies areas where the firm can play it’s part in looking after the environment and recycling materials for the benefit of all. Employees are encouraged to become part of this initiative, as the firm appreciates that environmental responsibility, both internally and externally, is central to the well being of it’s staff, it’s good name and it’s success and sustainability.

 Charitable Support
Wherever possible Pennycuick Collins will support charitable causes, particularly in support of it’s staff where they are involved in good and/or charitable causes. This commitment is made widely known and staff are encouraged to approach the firm for support and assistance in terms of time, finance or personal support.

 Consultation & Involvement
Pennycuick Collins believe that consultation at all levels is an essential tool of success and sustainability. As described earlier in this statement, consultation with staff is extensive, particularly through the appraisal system, but equally important is consultation with competitors, professional bodies and both local and national government. In this respect the firm maintains it’s memberships and active links with professional bodies, encouraging and supporting staff to join these bodies wherever possible and to take an active role therein, providing training and support to do so. In this way, Pennycuick Collins intend to stay at the forefront of the sector in which they practice. Strong links are maintained with competitors and fellow professionals, for the benefit of the sector, it’s professionals, staff, clients and contractors.
