2020 Year End Review

2020 has been an unprecedented year for the whole country however, our teams have been able to overcome all obstacles and produce the same high level service our leaseholders and clients expect from us. Here are some of the highlights from our year.
We started the year being appointed as managing agents for Latitude, a large city centre development with over 150 units. Following this appointment our commercial team advised on the sale of Priory House.
The company continued to grow, and due to this, we were in a position to take on an additional member of staff in our accounts team. Amy joined us in February and has been an amazing addition to the team since.
Following the appointment of Latitude, our next notable appointment was Osbourne House in Coventry. This prestigious property in the heart of Coventry contains 50 units. The new appointments enabled us to continue to grow our service charge team and Property Administrators Megan and Clara joined us in March. Like Amy, Megan and Clara have gone from strength to strength in their roles and continue to provide an excellent service to leaseholders, residents and clients.
With lockdown looming in March, we committed to working from home so that our team could continue to provide the high level of service our clients have come to expect. We were able to secure enough laptops for every member of the team and once lockdown hit at the end of the month, our teams were fully equipped to continue working from home.
Like many other business, we had to adapt to the new digital climate. We were able to do so by implementing our tenant portal earlier than scheduled to allow leaseholders to view their accounts with ease throughout lockdown. Whilst in lockdown, our team members took it upon themselves to take part in the £Run for Heroes” campaign, where each people would run 5k and donate £5 to a charity for the wellbeing and welfare of NHS staff across the country. Our amazing team members were able to raise over £100 for this charity.
In May Mark Mansell joined as a Senior Property Manager to manage a number of prestigious City Centre schemes. Mark brought a number of city centre developments with him and has helped contribute to the growth and success over the following months. We were also honoured to be shortlisted for Managing Agent of the Year at the Insider Awards, an Award which we won in 2019. We feel this showcases all the hard work put in by every member of our team.
Our building surveying team continued to work on the prestigious Packington Estate.
Throughout the summer we continued to focus on our service levels and new ways of working adapting to zoom and MSTeams meeting and holding a number of staff events whilst we continued to work from home.
In August, we announced a merger that had been in the works for months, we merged with Cosnett Price and their director, Alan Price joined us in our office at 54 Hagley Road. This has been a great partnership with Alan and the commercial team assisting and advising on a number of new commercial developments. In addition to this merger, we were also appointed as property managers for the Bristol Street Student Accommodation block in the city centre.
Lockdown and social distancing restrictions meant we had to postpone and change a lot of activities throughout the year, however that did not stop us finally completing our first major charity event of the year; The Pennycuick Collins Big Virtual Walk. We planned to do large group walks in order to raise money for our chosen charity, Edward’s Trust. Unfortunately, social distancing restrictions meant we had to do these walks alone. We still completed the distance required to cover the UK and we were able to raise over £1,000 for Edward’s Trust.
In October, Dale Jones joined the board of directors at Pennycuick Collins. Dale has been a vital member of the service charge team over the recent year and his wealth of knowledge has already had a great impact on the already experience board of directors. In addition do Dales promotion, we also welcomed Michelle Pugh to our service charge team. Michelle has settled in extremely well during her short time with us and has been a great addition to the resales team.
Autumn continued with a number of prestigious management appointments including Liberty Walk in Coventry and Newbold Terrace in Leamington Spa where we continue to expand our management.
In December we continued to work on a number of applications for government funding whilst our building consultancy team have been appointed to oversee a number of these schemes where we hope works will start in the New Year.
It has been a challenging year, but we have adapted and look forward to 2021.
