Party Wall / Boundary
The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 provides a framework for preventing and settling disputes relating to building works undertaken on
- party walls
- party structures – the floor between flats is such a structure
- party fence walls
- excavation work within 3 or 6 meters of an adjacent structure or
- building works along or astride the boundary line
The act is not a mechanism for stopping works going ahead but is intended to safeguard the interests of both parties.
We can provide the right professional advice to ensure that the correct notices are served within the timescales laid down in the act. Notices served incorrectly or late may result in work being ordered to be removed by the courts.
We can act for either building owners or adjoining owners to ensure that the correct notices and procedures are followed so the project is carried out with the minimum delay. Please use the call back form on the right to discuss this further with our team.
