Pennycuick Collins fired up for SIFA Fireside Birmingham

March 7th 2018

Pennycuick Collins Chartered Surveyors have revealed that they will be adopting SIFA Fireside Birmingham as their nominated charity for 2018.  SIFA Fireside Birmingham was formed in 2007 through the merger of well-established charities SIFA (Supporting Independence from Alcohol) and Fireside Charity.  SIFA Fireside works with some of the most vulnerable adults in society – those experiencing homelessness or who are vulnerably-housed.  Many of the people SIFA Fireside works with have complex mental and physical health problems, some have addictions and all are socially excluded.  The charity runs a daily drop in service which provides an average of 3,404 meals, 100+ people are given clothes, and 492 showers each month for its clients.  The centre also provides practical support for people with a history of homelessness to help increase their confidence and skills, for example one-to-one support regarding job seeking, specialist healthcare and welfare support.

Speaking about the partnership, Lyndsey Cannon-Leach, Pennycuick Collins partner who oversees the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility committee said:

“Our team was unanimous in its decision to partner with SIFA Fireside this year.  Homelessness is a major issue for most of the UK’s major towns and cities, and our staff want to do something tangible to help tackle what has become a rising problem in Birmingham.  We know from previous years that our staff will unite behind this really worthwhile cause and get involved in various fundraising activities, as well as volunteering time and clothing.  Having visited SIFA’s centre in Digbeth has motivated us even more to do all we can to support the amazing work of the team there.”

Melissa Roche, fundraising and corporate partnerships manager from SIFA Fireside added:

“We are delighted that Pennycuick Collins has decided to officially support us this year and the impact of this will be hugely beneficial to our work.”
