Student accommodation on Bristol Street is latest instruction for Pennycuick Collins

Benacre Properties Company has instructed Pennycuick Collins to manage their Bristol Street student residences with effect from 1 July 2020.  The development is made up of 154 student units.  As part of the appointment, Sophie Preece and Tom Giles-Traynor have transferred to Pennycuick Collins from CRM Students under a TUPE arrangement, continuing in their roles as accommodation and maintenance manager respectively.

Pennycuick Collins has a long association with the Bristol Street Student residences, having been involved since inception in an advisory capacity as managing agents of the Gooch Estate, through to project management of the two phases of the refurbishment project.  Phase two was completed in 2018 and comprises a  five storey new build and the restoration of a prominent Grade A locally listed Edwardian building. In addition to the student accommodation, the development includes further ground floor retail space to complement the existing retail units with frontage to Bristol Street. The site has special historic interest having been partially damaged during World War II air raids on the city, and is located within the Gooch Estate which dominates the Southside area of Birmingham.

Commenting on the appointment, Associate Director and Head of the Residential Asset Management department Lucy Roberts said:
